Norrköping is located on both sides of river Motala Ström, by Bråviken, an inlet of the Baltic sea, in the province of Östergötland. Norrköping received city rights in 1384, but it didn't reach greatness until dutch business man Louis de Geer in the 17th century established industry.
Norrköping has an active gay rights organisation (RFSL) that can be visited while in the city, maybe in connection with a play at the Östgöta Theatre. Other places to visit are the Museum of Labour and the Art Museum. In the summer, don't forget to visit beautiful Arkösund archipelago.
