There is a new era in Dockan. Throughout its history, the site passed from sea to land, from industry to private housing and urban recreation area. Five years ago, Skånes Dansteater moved to Dockan. Now it's time to celebrate!

DOCKPLATS 2010 is a great outdoor performance specially created for the site and its history. During four evenings in September Skånes Dansteater, along with divers, swim jumpers, choir, brass band, climbing, cycling and floating objects and dancers from Skolen for Moderne Dans, invites you to an art experience that will be completely unique. Over 100 people will participate in the show which will also have light projections, video installations and specially written music. Other parts of Skåne is woven into the project with Sounds of Skåne. These sounds will be the back drop for the show and a symbol for the melting pot that Malmö is today.

Behind it all stands the well-deserving choreographer duo DanceDesign - Leif Hernes and Anne Grete Eriksen who were responsible for the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Lillehammer, and since then have made several spectacular site-specific outdoor performances. In everyday life, they are also active at the Art Academy in Oslo.

The show has received financial support from Region Skåne, Malmö City and sponsors.

DOCKPLATS 2010 will take place outdoors in and around Dockan in Malmo
on 9-12 September 2010 with free admission.
